Anne G. Morgan and Jen Silverman (USA) Intense Dramaturgy Workshop (Riga-Vilnius)

On May 2, 2016 the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre together with the Latvian Academy of Culture started an international project – two weeks intense dramaturgy workshops of American dramaturge Anne G. Morgan and playwright Jen Silverman. American teachers will work in Vilnius from 9 to 11 May, as well as a joint seminar and a public presentation of the workshop results will be in Riga on May 13-14, 2016. This program is made possible by funding from U.S. Embassy and the Baltic-American Freedom Foundation (BAFF).

The collaboration that started last year with Prof. Dr. Andrzej Pitrus’ presentation of Polish film classics, this year has developed into a discussion about Poland’s neo-avantgard film tradition. Zbigniew Rybczynski’s films and video works as well as Wojciech Wiszniewski’s experimental films will be presented at Cinema Hall (Kosciuskos str. 12), 25-26, April, 2016.

Wow!!! April 11-14, Dreams come true: the Academy Award winning sound mixer and director Chris Newman works at our school

Chris Newman whose film credits include The Godfather, Amadeus, The Exorcist, The Silence of the Lambs, and The English Patient and who is a winner of  three Academy Awards for Best Sound and  nominated for five more in the same category will conduct the Lithuanian Academy ‘s four-day workshop Sound in films: the invisible craft for a group of future film makers. Open lectures on April, 12th and 14th at the LMTA Cinema Hall (Kosciuškos, 12) from 10:00

The 21st Vilnius IFF included a music video competition named “Kažkas atsitiko” (Something Happened) for the first time

Only the best music videos created in 2014 and 2015 made the cut. The winning film makers will receive prizes established by the Lithuanian music database pakartot.lt.
